With something m than 100 VIPs in attendance, China Central Television (CCTV) has officially launched its Asia-Pacific station in Hong Kong.
According to China Radio International, the station is an expansion of the broadcaster's existing Hong Kong correspondent operation and isintended to improve its coverage capabilities as well as providing a bridge for communication and cooperation between CCTV and media outlets in the Asia-Pacific region.
With the new HK office open, CCTV now has seven regional stations in the world, supported by approximately 50 overseas correspondent offices.
