Having begun life in 1914 as a restaurant, the Vecpuišu Parka Paviljons (Bachelors park pavilion) in Valmiera, Latvia, became a children’s afterschool activities centre and a bowling centre before being remade as an event hall for corporate parties, small scale concerts, and medium size parties. Responsible for its audio system is 3S SIA, the Latvian distributor for loudspeaker manufacturer Next-proaudio
The general technical company behind the install was SIA Decibel, with. SIA 3S called on to supply and install the PA system. 3S SIA Technical Director Arturs Cintins used Ease Focus to perform the room calculations and simulations. He also developed and implemented FIR filters for that system.
‘SIA Decibel is long-term customer of ours and he was sure it has to be a Next-proaudio system, so he called me,’ says 3S SIA Manager, Einars Cintins. The system of choice was the LA122 line array system – it maybe a bit massive for the room, but it can handle anything from a jazz trio to metal show, which gives unlimited flexibility for the venue. I’m confident we’ve built a proper system.’
The venue owner reports that he had expected the sound to be good, but the result exceeded his expectations. According the FOH engineer who ran the opening show, he had ‘never mixed on anything that sounds so sweet, transparent and free of distortion or colouration’.
