Preco has been appointment exclusive UK distributor for French manufacturer Rami Audio’s range of high-end broadcast products. A well-known and popular brand in France and across Europe, Rami Audio has yet to make inroads into the UK market.

Products range from USB audio devices to high-spec analogue broadcast consoles. There is also a broad offering of analogue and digital distribution, switching and back-up routing products. Intercom, silence detection and audio monitoring systems also appear in the Rami Audio range. Supporting all the above is a diverse offering of problem solvers and accessories including On-Air indicators for wall mounting and the RGL100 microphone arm mounting LED version of the same.

The RGL100 is a red light indicator that fits between the microphone and its shock mount and is driven by 12-24V DC power. When used in conjunction with the Rami ASM100 and the ASM110 interfaces, six independent mic indicators can be operated. The ASM100 unit is connected to the logic output of the mixing console and can be driven by a closing contact, open collector or a drain arrangement to switch the indicator. The ASM110 would be positioned in the studio and locally drive the mic live indicators. Connection between the ASM100 and ASM110 is made via standard Cat5 cabling.

‘Rami really does have an extensive range and the product design and build quality is right up there with the best,’ says Preco’s James Thomas. ‘It’s our job to get the word out about this great brand here in the UK. We know that a few engineers have their set preferences with regards to certain products they use. That said, the majority of engineers are exactly that and driven by empirical data. Once we have placed some of these products in front of them and they can see for themselves the value the Rami Audio range brings we know they will be converts.’
