Belgian broadcast service provider Live is Life has added Live4 to its mobile audio mixing and recording facilities. Central to its mission is to serve clients’ needs ‘at any production or event, whatever its size’.

Apex supplied a DiGiCo DS00 console for the Liveis Live’s original Live2 nine years ago, its 160 inputs allowing it to handle Belgium’s largest TV shows and live events. This was followed by a smaller vehicle, Live3, equipped with a DiGiCo SD Ten to accommodate both video and audio set-ups.

Supplied by Apex Audio Benelux, this DiGiCo SD Ten Broadcast is now permanently accommodated in the new, larger Live4 vehicle. ‘Two of the higher profile projects where we used the SD Ten Broadcast in Live3 last year were at the Rock Werchter Festival [one of Europe’s five largest annual music festivals] and as a portable mixing set-up set for Debby & Nancy’s Warm Winter Show, a weekly entertainment programme on VTM,’ says Live Is Life’s Gert Coremans. ‘The console proved that it was great for a diverse array of projects, so it made sense to include it in our biggest mobile facility.’

Apex has also supplied a range of outboard equipment for Live4: ‘The SD Ten Broadcast can work seamlessly with the outboard, but it can also handle plug-ins, meaning that it can meet all the needs of our clients,’ he adds. ‘Apex has also supplied a third DiGiRack, to complement the two we already have for Live2. It is easy to swap input racks between the two vehicles, depending on client needs.’

With the new vehicle now up and running, Live Is Life has a comprehensive catalogue of mobile audio facilities. ‘The new truck is booked for many events in the summer,’ Coremans reports. ‘In fact, both were at the 2013 Rock Werchter Festival, at the Barn and the Marquee stages respectively.’
