Prolight & Sound Shanghai has signed up six leading loudspeaker manufactirers for its Concert Sound Arena live demonstration session.

Taking place over four days of the show, the event will showcase systems from Duran Audio (Netherlands), K-array (Italy), LAX (China), PSG (US), Sound King (China) and TW Audio (Germany).

Duran Audio will demonstrate its Axys Target System, a fully-scalable, front-of-house, array system using DDS technology to optimise the beam shape and SPL coverage for a predefined listening space. ‘China is an unlimited but competitive market,’ says Andrew Kuo, Event Manager from Duran’s China distributor, Tom Lee Engineering. ‘Success depends on how to make use of promotional opportunities such as the Concert Sound Arena, which is a platform for a powerful demonstration that lets the show visitors experience excellent sound quality at one of the most professional audio shows in Asia.’

The K-array speaker system will be demonstrated by Chinese distributor, Sennheiser Greater China. With our operation and infrastructure in place, we are able to provide our clients with better accessibility to products, technical consulting and after sales services,’ says Marc Vincent, President of Sennheiser Greater China. ‘This is a good platform for K-array to demonstrate its super-thin and super-lightweight features. We joined the Concert Sound Area last year and the feedback was positive, as visitors could feel the powerful sound effect of K-array.’ As well as the outdoor demonstration, Sennheiser will run a K-array product seminar on the second day of the show.

China’s LAX International Group Limited will show the OP4924L and OP318B systems to domestic and international clients as well as inviting relationships with existing Yangtze Delta clients. ‘Compared to performing in the sound hall, this is better to demonstrate in an outdoor area which gives visitors a good chance to thoroughly enjoy the product effect,’ says Liang Yan Zhang, from the company’s marketing department.

TW Audio is making their second appearance at the Concert Sound Arena, and will demonstrate the mid-size PA-Sys-One, for small live music events, and the Vera 10 Line Array in combination with the newly developed BSX subwoofer for concerts with audiences of up to 10,000 people. ‘Our presence in China and at Prolight & Sound Shanghai has a definite long-term focus,’ says Managing Director Bernhard Wustner. ‘Concert Sound Arena is an excellent opportunity for customers to compare the sound of several brands at once, and it is also a fantastic opportunity for loudspeaker manufacturers to win over the professional audience. It has definitely worked both ways for us.’

‘China is very important to us,’ he adds. ‘It’s one of the world’s largest economies with a strong demand for technologically advanced products and brands. All things considered, we believe TW Audio fits the Chinese market requirements very well so we see excellent market potential.’

Prolight & Sound Shanghai will take place in October and is organised by Messe Frankfurt and Intex. It runs concurrently with Music China, Asia’s largest international exhibition for musical instruments and accessories. It is also the sister event of Prolight & Sound, which will be held during April in Frankfurt, Germany.
