Outline has appointed Studio Sound International (SSI) as its Latin America agent.

SSIWith more than 30 years’ operation, SSI is among few companies representing professional music equipent in the region and will handle Outling throughout, with the exclusion of Brazil and Puerto Rico.

With the addition of Outline loudspeakers, SSI’s roster comprises 19 brands covering pro audio, live sound, MI and Accessories from its HQ in Montevideo, Uruguay.

‘SSI provides a turnkey solution for growth and success in this very specialised region,’ says SSI’s Chris Adams. ‘I’d like to emphasise that we are a representation company, not a distributor. Our aim is to select the best distribution partners in each country to work with and support from our product specialist, José Luis Izábal; with this traditional set-up, we expect local distributors to have their own team marketing in their countries, while we support them with information and demos. We will also stage a sales drive with rental companies, via mailings to attract their interest, as they like to be contacted directly by manufacturers. We will thus be able to satisfy them with specific deals, while having the local distributor there for support and service.

’While many people prefer to sell inexpensive low quality products, we prefer the best most technologically advanced products. That is why we are very excited to work with Outline, as we feel it’s the next big name for Latin-America in line array systems and we intend establishing the brand and company name,’ he adds.

’In spite of the global financial crisis that has afflicted all the markets in recent years, Outline has grown significantly, in terms of nations represented, product range and turnover,’ says Outline CEO Giorgio Biffi. ‘This increase in demand has obliged us to reorganise our manufacturing and logistics set-up, which has enabled us to handle the process of expansion efficiently without being overwhelmed by it.
