dBTechnolgies recently hosted its fifth annual ‘Prosonic’ distributor convention at its Cologne headquarters, with the new DVA T12 being the focus of the two-day forum.

Sounding out ProsonicInvitations to the event extended to key sales and technical staff of distribution partners, allowing dBTechnologies to discuss all aspects of the working, set-up and selling of the new line array module to rental and installation customers. ‘T12 is the result of three years’ intensive R&D, and we want to give our distributors as much product knowledge and marketing support as we can, to justify and validate the efforts that have gone into its design,’ says Michael Herweg, MD of dBTechnologies.

Indeed, the T12 has enjoyed its first festival season this summer at the Italian Notte Della Taranta festival.

‘It has been great to learn about how T4 and T12 are compatible, and find out the ideal configurations of the two line arrays,’ says Trausti Ingólfssson from Icelandic distributor, Tonabudin. ‘Together with the S30 subwoofers it makes for an amazing system.’

Luis Tavares of Garrett Audiovisuais in Portugal identified the latest remote control software as appealing: ‘The great thing with RD-Net is that you can remotely control and monitor the DVA T12 while it’s rigged - even during a performance,’ he says. ‘This is just another of a long list of benefits that will give this great new product a real standing in the market.’

The highlight for Prosonic visitors was an outdoor live listening test, where the DVA T12 and S30 subwoofer were compared with some of the internationally relevant competitors. ‘It was always going to be good, with Claudio [Ottani] behind the R&D’ says Per Oystein Berglund of Njal Hansson AS, Norway. ‘The T12 compares incredibly well with brands which cost considerably more. dBTechnologies is playing on the big stage now – literally.’

dBTechnologies’ Head of R&D, Claudio Ottani was on hand to answer distributors’ questions for the remainder of the afternoon, ensuring all representatives – sales and marketing as well as the more technically minded – were equipped with every possible piece of DVA information.

As with previous years, distributors’ hard work was celebrated with an awards ceremony, with the definitive list of those who received acolades available on the dBTechnologies website. In addition, a Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Area Sales Manager Stefanos Koutavas, who will be leaving dBTechnologies after 12 years of service.
