The APRS annual Sound Fellowships awards lunch has received a boost with the support of two prestigious audio brands – leading speaker manufacturer Genelec and Australian microphone specialist Røde.

Taking place on 22 November at the Roof Gardens in Kensington, the awards will be hosted by Sir George and Lady Martin, and offers an opportunity for the recording sector to recognise its historical and current heroes, as well as cement the relationship between the recording sector, its manufacturers and its clients in the music and A/V sectors.

The event enjoys a reputation as a relaxed and casual chance for studio and manufacturer clients to connect with artists and audio practitioners who are recognised as having made an outstanding contribution to the ‘art, science and business’ of recording. Support and promotion packages start from £500 which include website visibility and link exchanges, printed matter and A/V presentation presence and pro-rated free tickets.

‘We are not looking to expand into a massive, multi-table, rubber-chicken affair that gathers enormous public attention,’ says APRS Executive Director, Peter Filleul. ‘The recording business is a private world where client discretion is key – so our annual celebration should keep its family flavour.’

Genelec and Australian microphone specialist Røde are distributed in the UK by Source Distribution – the distribution division of HHB Communications, whose MD, Ian Jones, and Group Sales Director, Steve Angel, have attended the event for a number of years. ‘The APRS have really done a great job for the industry and we are proud to associate these leading brands with their Fellowship Awards Lunch which has become one of the most enjoyable occasions in the end-of-year celebrations,’ says Jones.
