L-Acoustics adds AES/EBU digital audio support

Following the introduction of the LA-AES3 card and LA-Panel AES3 in 2010, L-Acoustics’ LA8 amplified controller and K standard are to support AES/EBU digital audio as a standard feature.

According to the manufacturer, the LA4 is not affected by this change and the LA-AES3 card remains optional for the amplified controller. 
The change is effective from 1 May 2011, from which date:

All LA8 amplified controllers will be shipping with a pre-mounted LA-AES3 card

All LA-Rak Empty will be shipping with a pre-mounted LA-PanelAES3

All LA-Raks will be shipping with LA8/LA-AES3 and the LA-PanelAES3

To ensure standardised inventories, existing LA8 and LA-Rak can be upgraded with LA-AES3 cards and LA-PanelAES3panels.
