Intended for broadcast announcements and use as part of larger installed sound systems for automated event productions, the Roland Systems Group AR-3000SD recorder/player features a yearly programmable timer and LAN control with web server functionality that enables external control of the settings.
Playback can be controlled via the Control I/O Terminals, over a network using the LAN port, Midi or RS232 port on the rear of the unit. The AR-3000SD has a selection of five playback types including direct, programme, binary, computer and Midi, as well as loop and repeat options.
As part of a larger installed system, the AR-3000SD offers a variety of playback and control formats, enabling the configuration of a variety of systems. External control can consist of switch based audio guidance, sensor activated guide narration, real-time control via a computer, phrase playback and time code synchronisation using Midi and central control over a network. The AR-3000SD itself can also be used to control external devices to facilitate, for example, playback of music on Midi instruments, turning on amplifiers, lighting control, linking audio to video playback or switching audio over a network.
The AES/EBU interface supports output of high-quality digital audio, while SD or Compact Flash memory cards can be used alongside the 4Gb SD/SDHC Memory Card using SLC (Single Level Cell). In addition, the AR-3000SD has two ‘virtual’ cards, which can store up to 2000 recorded phrases. Playback and recorded files are uncompressed WAV and MP3 formats up to 24-bit recording and playback at 96kHz.
The AR-3000SD also features the AR Series Card Data Editor software that allows editing of data on the SD cards using a PC.
