Nexo has named Gianni Fantini as Sales Manager of Nexo Italy.
Having been prominently involved with Nexo for nearly 20 years, the appointment follows early work as a FOH engineer with Italian and international artists, and the establishment of a full-service production company Joint Rent, that invested in Nexo’s Geo-T tangent line array in 2005 in order to handle larger shows.
‘I experienced Nexo for the first time in 1989 when I was the FOH engineer for Enzo Iannacci – we used an SI1000 system, and I easily fell in love with it,’ Fantini recalls. ‘We became a Nexo dealer in 2003, and have been able to achieve some big numbers in the Italian market, with classy installations and big tours. Today, Joint Rent thrives as a rental house and commercial sales company, representing a wide variety of brands. As I move on to work with Nexo full-time, I will pass Joint Rent to my son Andrea, making sure it stays in the family for more than 30 years.’
Fantini takes on the Nexo brand in Italy from his colleague Sergio Caprara, who passed away last year. ‘Here in Italy, the live music market has always seen a lot of Nexo but, looking at the innovative products coming out this year, and the possibilities that can come out of collaboration with Yamaha Italy, I expect us to start enjoying stronger success in the installation sector.
‘It’s always been a pleasure to collaborate with this company and its staff, but it’s going to be even more satisfying to be part of the family; I truly believe in the brand,’ he adds. ‘Technologically, it’s way ahead of its competitors, and deserves to be one of the top brands in the market. It is a personal goal to be here, and I couldn’t be more excited.’
